Weekend Studio Receptionist at Montclair Mud

Job Description:
We are seeking a friendly, patient, and highly organized individual to join our team as a receptionist at this bustling location. The ideal candidate will excel in logistics, possess proficient computer/app skills (Mostly square app, google sheets, asana skills but we will train) Must have a knack for providing excellent customer service. As the face of our studio, the receptionist will be responsible for handling walk-in and phone inquiries, providing knowledgeable answers about our offerings, and assisting visitors with their needs.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Greet and assist visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
2. Answer phone calls and emails promptly, providing accurate information about our studio and services.
3. Manage studio scheduling appointments and claydates
4. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and studio space.
5. Collaborate with instructors and studioi staff to ensure smooth operation of daily activities.
6. Actively learn about our studio's offerings, including classes, workshops, and events, to effectively promote them to potential and existing members.
7. Handle transactions, including payments and invoicing for events.
8. Must be available to work weekends and handle busy moments with composure and efficiency.
9. Exhibit a passion for clay and pottery, ideally being a current member of our studio, and be able to convey that excitement to potential members.
10. Demonstrate self-direction, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills to address various challenges that may arise during daily operations.
11. Locate creations from past events for pickup

Qualifications:
- Prior experience in customer service, receptionist or restaurant industry role preferred.
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Job Title: Studio Technician

We are currently seeking a dedicated and physically capable individual to join our team as a Studio Technician at our pottery studio. The Studio Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our studio by managing kiln maintenance, loading and unloading kilns, glaze mixing, inventory management, and clay pugging. While prior experience is a plus, we are willing to train a committed candidate who is eager to learn and grow with us.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of kilns to ensure proper functioning.
2. Safely load and unload kilns with pottery pieces, following specific guidelines and schedules.
3. Prepare glazes according to established recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
4. Manage inventory of pottery supplies, including clay, glazes, tools, and equipment.
5. Operate clay pugging machines to prepare clay for studio use.
6. Assist studio members with technical issues and provide guidance on proper studio procedures.
7. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kiln room.
8. Collaborate with other studio technicians and staff to coordinate studio activities.
9. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working in the studio.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in pottery or ceramics preferred, but not required.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25 lbs).
- Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Passion for pottery and ceramics with a desire to learn and grow in the field
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong commitment to the role.
- Flexibility to work 20-25 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as needed.
