Weekly Kids Hand Building Classes

For ages 7 and up.

Learn fun hand building techniques like coiling, pinching, and slab building to create unique and functional clay pieces! Kids explore texture, form, and creativity while learning how to make both functional and sculptural works of art.

Classes are flexible! You’ll purchase an 8-class pack and can attend on your schedule (within 3 months of purchase).

Weekly Teen Wheel Classes

Must be in 7th grade or older to register.

Teens will learn the fundamentals of throwing on the wheel — centering clay, pulling walls, trimming, and glazing. Students who prefer to handbuild instead are also welcome!

Each session includes 8 weeks of instruction and unlimited open studio time.

$435 per person (includes 25lb clay)

One Time Teen Wheel Workshop (More Mud Montclair)

Ages 13–17

Curious about the pottery wheel but not ready for a full session? Our One-Time Teen Wheel Workshop lets you experience the thrill of throwing clay! Teens will try centering and shaping their own pots on the wheel, then choose their favorite glaze colors.

Projects are fired twice and ready for pickup in about 5 weeks.

$95 per person · 2–2.5 hours

Daily Hand Building

Want to play with clay without committing to a full class? Book a Play With Clay Any Day hand building session! Perfect for individuals or small groups who want to create a fun project with step-by-step guidance.

Invite a few friends, make something amazing, and grab ice cream after — the perfect mini claydate!

$39 per guest (no minimum, max 6 guests)

Weekend Workshops

Ages 7 and up

Our Weekend Workshops are perfect for artists who want to try something new each session. Projects vary but always include a fun, hands-on clay experience using hand building and basic wheel throwing techniques.

Each project is unique and ready for pickup in about 5 weeks.

School's Out Clay Days

9am–12pm

No school? No problem! Drop your kids off for a creative morning of clay fun. Artists ages 7 and up will explore hand building techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab construction to make cool, unique pieces.

Includes staff glazing, or kids can return for a $40 add-on hand glazing session later. Projects ready in about 5 weeks.

$75 per artist

Summer Camp

For ages 7 and up

Join us for a summer filled with mud, creativity, and fun! Summer Clay Camp features daily hand building and wheel projects for kids and teens. Campers will learn the full clay process from shaping to glazing. All while having a blast.

Birthday Claydates

Celebrate your special day with clay! Our Kids, Tweens & Teens Claydates are perfect for birthdays or any fun occasion. Choose from Hand building Parties (ages 8+) or Wheel Parties (7th grade+).

All parties include 2–2.5 hours of creative fun, your own instructor, and time for food and celebration.

Hand building: $450 for up to 10 guests, $35 each additional
Wheel: $450 for up to 6 guests, $65 each additional

Girl & Boy Scout Handbuilding Claydate

2nd grade and older | 10-20 scouts | 1.25 hours

Earn your pottery badge! Learn how to make a successful handbuilt project based on a pinch pot, using scoring & slipping techniques to create something awesome. Pinch pots can become almost anything—a custom mug or a cartoon character!

Scouts choose two colors for their projects, our staff takes care of the rest, and leaders pick up all pieces several weeks after the event.

Pricing: $350 for up to 10 scouts, $35 each additional (max 20)

Girl & Boy Scout Pottery Wheel Claydate

7th grade and older | 5-16 scouts | 2-2.5 hours

Just like our adult Signature Claydate! Attendees create one handbuilding piece and get two tries on the wheel.

Projects will be ready to pick up in several weeks.

Pricing: $350 for up to 5 scouts, $55 each additional (max 16)
