Private Claydates
Make your next celebration, team event, or scout gathering unforgettable with a claydate at Mud Clay Studio! Whether you're planning a birthday party, team-building activity, girls' night out, or scout badge event, we offer unique hands-on pottery experiences for groups of all ages.
Choose from pottery wheel throwing, hand-building, or our signature mixed ceramic experience. BYOB for adult events! All private claydates include dedicated instruction, materials, glazing, and firing.
Preferred days and times: Thursdays or Fridays at 7pm, Saturdays at 1, 4 or 7pm, or Sundays at 4pm (varies by event type)
Guests who arrive late will miss important instructions—please allow extra time for traffic.

We book weeks in advance, so please provide multiple date options when reaching out!
Kids Handbuilding Claydate
Ages 8 and above | 10-20 guests | 2 hours
Each guest will create an awesome handbuilt project that starts out as a pinch pot. These can become almost anything—a custom mug, a bowl, an animal, or whatever they imagine! Guests will also create a group project as a birthday gift. At the end, guests choose two colors for their projects, and our staff takes care of the rest.
What to Bring: Pizza, cake, paper goods, and decorations
Timing: Friday, 4pm; Saturday or Sunday, 1pm or 4pm (depending on availability).
Host families arrive 15 min early to set up. The claydate is two hours long, which includes time for projects and food. After the party, projects remain at the studio to dry out and fire twice. Host families will return to pick everything up 5 weeks later.
Pricing: $450 for up to 10 guests, $35 per additional guest (max 20)

7th Grade and above | 6-16 guests | 2.5 hours
Party guests will create three pieces on the potter's wheel (if every attempt is successful.) Pottery is tricky—we can't guarantee every piece will work out, but we'll try our hardest to help you create wonderful works of art! At the end, guests choose two colors for their projects, and our staff takes care of the rest.

Earn your pottery badge! Learn how to make a successful handbuilt project based on a pinch pot, using scoring & slipping techniques to create something awesome. Pinch pots can become almost anything—a custom mug or a cartoon character!
Scouts choose two colors for their projects, our staff takes care of the rest, and leaders pick up all pieces several weeks after the event.
Pricing: $350 for up to 10 scouts, $35 each additional (max 20)

Perfect for a slightly less messy evening out with friends! Create handbuilt projects using pinching, coiling & slab building techniques. Choose from one of our signature projects that you can all do together, or each work individually making whatever you can imagine (with our help of course).
No Experience Necessary. No use of wheel.
Choose your glaze colors and we'll take care of the rest. Host will pickup in 5 weeks!

Our signature mixed ceramic experience! Build one piece using just your hands- pinch, coil, add textures, and score & slip to create a clay masterpiece. Then watch a detailed demo and create two pieces on the potter's wheel (if both attempts are successful.) We'll help you A LOT...just call us Patrick Swayze!

- All claydates require a $100 reservation deposit
- Your deposit is refundable if you cancel up to 7 days ahead. You will not lose your deposit if you change dates up to 3 days ahead, or you can reschedule for inclement weather a minimum of 5 hours ahead.
- The remainder is due on the day of the event, based on the confirmed number of guests
- You must confirm your final headcount at least 3 days in advance
- Final total is based on confirmed number (not attendance) to ensure proper staffing
- Last minute guest cancellations will not affect the total
