Clay Artist | Teacher
Maddie has been teaching at Mud since 2015, starting in the summer camp program and adult handbuilding classes. “Clay is a versatile material that people of every age enjoy working in.” When not teaching at Mud, she teaches Ceramics, Photography and 3D Design at Madison High School and teaches graduate courses as a professor at the Art of Education University.
Maddie has dedicated her life to the process of creating art and teaching others the benefits of expression. In her own work, she draws inspiration from the beauty and whimsy of life. She loves working with raw clay and turning it into something beautiful. She values the importance of a clay community like Mud because she gets inspiration and feedback from peers.
Maddie holds a Bachelor’s in Arts Education from SUNY New Paltz and a Masters in Arts & Cultural Management from Pratt Institute.
