Alyssa Herrera is a multidisciplinary artist and educator, living and working in New Jersey.
Alyssa Herrera is a practicing artist specializing in a variety of media - ceramics, photography, and mixed media. Driven by her interest in natural and raw materials, Alyssa’s work has evolved from traditional drawing and painting, to abstract design and organic sculpture. Sustainability and intention are the driving forces behind her creations. She creates ceramic sculpture works that combine functionality and aesthetics.
In her latest work, she challenges the medium of ceramics by creating works that have moving parts and create sound. The series showcases the raw texture of ceramic, as trapped rings and forms move against the surface of the vessel.
Alyssa Herrera is traditionally trained in studio fine arts and education, with a BA in Fine Art Education from the College of New Jersey.
