Kids, Tweens & Teens Birthday Claydates
BTW, It doesn’t have to be for a birthday! Just plan a cool and unique activity for kids and teens to do with friends.

Our 2-2.5 hour parties provide a fun experience for all budding artists! Create a project that will remind you of the BEST PARTY of the year!
Handbuilding Claydate/Birthday Party for 8 Years and above
Guests:
Handbuilding Claydates are for ages 8 and above, and you can invite between 10 and 20 guests. While we love parents, please ask them to drop guests off and come back when the party is finished! (Space is limited in the studio)
Projects:
Party guests will learn scoring & slipping techniques to create awesome handbuilt projects that start out as pinch pots. These pinch pots can become almost anything, including something useful like a custom mug, or something purely fun like a cartoon character! Guests will also create a group project as a birthday gift. At the end of the claydate, guests choose two colors for their projects, our staff takes care of the rest.
Timing:
Claydates are 2 hours long and include time for the project and food. (You can choose from 4pm Friday, or 1 or 4 Pm Saturday or Sunday, depending on availability.) After the party, projects need to dry out and fire twice. The host will come back and pick everything up 5 weeks later.
What to Bring:
Please bring pizza and cake (or any other food you like,) paper goods, and any decorations you would like.
Pricing:
$400 for up to 10 guests, $30 per additional guest up to 20 guests
Claydates require a $100 reservation deposit (refundable up to 7 days ahead.)
The remainder is due on the day of the event, based on the confirmed number of guests. You will need to confirm at least 3 days ahead.
Mud Clay Studio studio bases the final total on a confirmed number (instead of attendance) in order to schedule the right number of event staff. Last minute guest cancelations will not affect the total.
*Unfortunately, we are not offering claydates in Upper Montclair at this time.
For smaller groups:
You could make a daily handbuilding reservation instead of booking a private party- $35 a guest (no minimum, max 6)
Invite kids to come for a project and then go out for ice cream/cupcakes etc. later.

Teen Wheel Claydate/Birthday Party for 7th Grade and above
Guests:
Wheel Claydates are for 7th Grade and above, and you can invite between 6 and 16 guests. While we love parents, please ask them to drop guests off and come back when the party is finished! (Space is limited in the studio)
Projects:
Party guests will try the potter’s wheel three times. Unfortunately pottery is tricky. Mud cannot guarantee that every piece will be successful. We will try our hardest to provide you with wonderful works of art! At the end of the claydate, guests choose two colors for their projects, our staff takes care of the rest.
