Meg loves working with clay because it lets her lose track of time and create. A block of mud can be made into anything from a coffee mug to a garden sculpture. It can be functional or fanciful. And working with people from all different walks of life who come together to create is so inspiring.
She has always had an interest in clay and when Mud opened in Madison, she knew it was just a matter of time before she was going to be a regular. A clay community is important because we learn and are inspired from each other. Everyone has different strengths and ideas, when we work side by side, we can grow through the process.
Creating and working with your hands is so rewarding! Meg was an elementary school teacher and learned to meet each of her students where they were and to create a positive learning experience for them based on their learning style. She feels she still can do that with the people in her pottery classes. Everyone comes in with unique strengths and learning styles, and Meg loves to encourage that.
